Here are some interesting stats from BlogWorld Expo:
- 12 million+ Americans currently maintain a blog
- More than 147 million Americans use the Internet
- More than 57 million Americans read blogs
- 1.7 Americans list “making money” as one of the reasons they blog
- 89 percent of the companies responding to a recent survey say they think blogs will be even more important in the next five years
- Technorati is currently tracking more than 70 million blogs
- More than 120 thousand blogs are created each day
- There are 1.4 million new blog posts every day
- Twenty-two of the most popular 100 Web sites in the world are blogs
- More than one-third of all blog readers report they began reading them in 2005 or 2006
- More than half of blog readers say they shop online
- Blog readers average 23 hours online each week
So, if you think (or if your boss thinks, or your client thinks) that online media is not important, encourage them to think again.
